What types of chemical peels are available?

Dr. Sanjay Lalla is pleased to offer a variety of peel types to fit the needs of his patients. Below are the three more common types of peels used by our patients to achieve rejuvenated skin:

Superficial peels – superficial peels are peels that are best for patients in their 20’s and 30’s who want to take a proactive approach to aging or damaged skin. This type of peel lifts the surface cells for a refreshed appearance. These peels are fast and typically have minimal side effects. Some common chemical peels we offer include those with salicylic acid or glycolic acid.

Medium peels – patients who want to address uneven skin tone, sun damage, or dark spots may be excellent candidates for medium chemical peels. These peels break down pigmentation and can smooth fine line and wrinkles at the base of the epidermis. It is stronger and requires a longer recovery procedure, but provides longer-lasting results.

Deep peels – patients over the age of 40 with significant skin concerns may want to ask about the deep peel. Deep peels are perfect for individuals who want dramatic results with a single treatment.
